i LOVE making connections in a language i'm learning and then discovering my native language has the same connection & i just wasn't aware of it

I love learning other languages because in Azerbaijani, "to graze" is otlamaq. I quickly made the connection to ot, the word for grass. Then it struck me that graze and grass are probably related in English. Looked it up, and they are. Never would've made this connection in English w/o Azerbaijani.
