The backlash against AI is growing. I'm not sure they realise how quickly and I'm not sure how effective it's going to be, but it's going to be a thing in 2025.

The sad thing is that there are legit and very beneficial uses to machine learning and research, but the marketing hype and collapse probably in 2025 is going to take a lot of good with it. It's going to be another AI winter.

I feel like the vilification of the term Artificial Intelligence is thoroughly deserved. Maybe to avoid that, people will start labelling machine learning, artificial neural-like networks, probabilistic programming, large language models etc. as such, and not use pretty misleading umbrella term AI.
