I think the kind of antics Carlos Sainz got up to at the #LasVegasGP vindicated Red Bull not choosing him as Max's teammate. If he has the potential to bend team orders, or even break them, that could easily irritate Verstappen. #F1

I personally don't see it like that. Carlos is in a car that can get podiums, ferrari is not clear on radio calls towards him (pitlane track limit) and next year Carlos will be driving for Williams. I see a driver that wants to fight for the last few podiums he can get before going to Formula B.
It’s not the potential my guy, he’s been doing it ever since they became teammates. It’s not just breaking team orders either, he’s intentionally ruined Leclerc’s quali laps so much that Leclerc won’t even ask for a tow in Monza. He intentionally gave Verstappen DRS. The guy sabotages his own team
The WCC is vital for any team. That kind of prize money is not to be sniffed at. What I mean is that Carlos is a hustler and wants to get the best result possible, even if it means treading on toes.
I appreciate the example shared. This wasn't a dig at Carlos; this kind of drive is what teams like Williams needs. It's just not something that Ferrari had in the script.
Red Bull love a bit of rule bending and breaking so you'd think this would help his case. 🤷
Anyone who drives at Red Bull knows they're going to be Max's wingman and nothing more. They need someone better than Perez if they want to win constructor titles though.
I disagree.
If this had been Lewis Hamilton (it actually could happen next year - I predict it will) then it would be chalked up as an action of a world champion & just how they are wired.
It is amazing how this changes depending on the drivers involved and nationality of the press.

I think you're right in a sense, Carlos would never play the team game at RedBull. He's more than talented enough but that team psychologically breaks drivers who drive next to Max.
However, Carlos is showing he's able to be a #1 and kinda show Ferrari they got rid of the wrong guy.
I think you confuse our frustration. Charles and his fans will be fine if Lewis is faster. We’ll be happy bc Lewis has shown this year that he’ll let a quicker teammate by. Both of them have team-first mentalities, and that’s what we want. They can fight with pace and not politics
he’s much tougher than you give him credit for. He’s been dealing with this frustration for four years now and this is the first time he’s been publicly pissed off about it. I fear most people wouldn’t have the self-control.
He will be fine at Williams. It feels like James is ready to start a new chapter with the team and needs a hustler which he sees in Carlos. I wonder how Alex will respond.
If Charles wanted Carlos to play by all the agreements, he should have outdriven him.
Its not going to go well for Charles next season against Lewis.... because its Lewis. He wants that 8th title and this weekend showed that fire still burns white hot within him when hes got a solid car.
Meanwhile, Carlos is gonna take all that skill and the chip on his shoulder to Williams and while Albon is the long term, stopped the bleeding guy there.... Carlos is gonna do things with that car.
Couldn’t have said it better myself - every one of the drivers on this grid are in it to win it, whether their machinery or skill allows for it. No one is going to be content with being a dutiful running mate and a doormat at all times, at the expense of their sporting legacy.
It’s going to be interesting to watch the dynamics of Leclerc and Sainz in their respective teams, especially knowing who their team drivers are - 2025 is going to be an interesting season.
Controversial opinion perhaps, but why should the #2 spot on RBR be permanently second-fiddle to Max? Does that driver not rightfully have aspirations to win as well?
I think it’s possible to balance both priorities and for the most part, at Ferrari, Sainz has done so so I would disagree.
You thought wrong, unfortunately. It’s impossible to see for those who do not watch the onboards or play close attention to the data because of Ferrari’s PR, but Carlos rarely ever plays the team game or follows orders. He races Leclerc dirtier than others and finds a way to hinder him if possible
It seems to me that Carlos take matters into his own hands and isn't afraid to ruffle feathers if need be. As for Charles, he has been told many times probably to trust the pitwall and focus on his own race...that belief has probably been shattered; hence the outburst.
I think you’re very kind to say that. Carlos’s “taking matters into his own hands” damages his own race result sometimes, and usually damages the result of the team like Vegas. Charles wasn’t pissed at the pit wall yesterday. He was pissed at Sainz. Ferrari is incapable of controlling him, and
Charles will not crash him out just to make him fall in line because he cares about the constructors. Thus he’s always fucked over for being respectful.

And lol, vs what having Perez and costing them the WCC.. just because the online fandom say WCC is not important.
In all seriousness, without knowing the behind the scenes, we shouldn't really speculate.. as it comes off crass.
But don't let facts ruin a sensational toot.

Dont get me wrong, i like the guy. I think he's a solid #1 driver who had a frustrating weekend.
I just see how this sport destroys people mentally. Dont wanna see that happen to him.

This is a cutthroat sport. Your teammate could idolize you or be your best friend and even those are not gonna survive.
