I would like to add that some of the Ubuntu forks are also a good choice.
My distro of choice is Xubuntu.
I used Mint for a few years too.

Great answer. Makes sense said like that. From a European standpoint I’m not sure much will change tho. GDPR is kind of holding strong around here but I’m curious to hear your opinion.

Thanks. I don't have the familiarity to speak to GDPR, but having seen many toothless regulatory measures in the past my default stance is one of skepticism. The penalties for violation have to be severe enough for companies to feel them or else they're just fees.

I hear you. For what it's worth it you have a Steam Deck you could dip your toe in the water by messing with desktop mode in SteamOS.

Chrome OS is amazing. I know, Google, maybe Gemini. But, the flawless integration with Android and Linux makes Chromebooks absolutely awesome machines for daily work

Personally I feel a lot more comfortable on an operating system where I have tighter control over AI integration or lack thereof and what happens to my data.

Ultimately though I'm in full support of using the tools that best meet your needs.

Nice! This is my first time using Plasma and it's pretty great though I'm missing the option to have the task manager sit behind open windows rather than auto hide/dodge.

Not familiar with Endeavor! What do you like most about it?

Endeavor has all the amenities of arch but without being a pain to setup. It’s similar to Manjaro but I actually think it is better maintained. It honestly feels kinda like PopOS, but for arch fans. It just has a fun vibe and they have a custom KDE skin with it that matches my rig 🫨
