One of my secrets for finding hidden gems as a reporter was to look into a studio and see how long the seniors were there. How many folks they've promoted from within. If producers with good track records are kept around.

It is literally impossible to make a video game. You have to create a reality from scratch, and make it fun, and make it cohesive. It requires about a billion hard skills and about a million soft skills. So many disciplines.

And when people do it successfully they are fired.
