I've heard about this, but people mostly say because of the bad filter that the game uses on the sprites
I'll not blame them though. This is in fact a shitty filter that they use
However, you can deactivate it by selecting the Original graphics instead of the High Resolution only
But as far as I know, Square doesn't share that nowhere for some reason. They tell on the steam page and on the trailer that the game have "updated graphics", and by default it is with that option activated, but they never say that you can deactivate it anywhere.
Ok, I've started a new save just to be sure if it was still like that
The option is not that hidden anymore and you can change right away when starting a new game (you can change during the run if you want too). Not only that but apparently the original graphics are the default one now
yup. The prints that I've sent was from my copy of the game, and both are on the exact same resolution. The only change when playing with the original graphics is that you'll not have that bad filter
However, you can change the resolution too if you want
Funny enough, it is actually that. When it released it had even the mobile buttons on screen (I can't confirm that last part though. Someone told me that it had this)
However, nowdays is a good version. Not even the filter is a real problem since it's optional and comes deactivated by default

I've searched to see how it was out of curiosity. It's not bad for mobile, but on PC it's probably not the best way
(Oh, and the PS1 cutscenes!)
