The only thing I would disagree with is where you say that one party isn't made up of public servants. Because that's too mild a way to describe what almost all of the GOP is now, and has been for some time.

It’s the last line in those snips that grabs. Agree or disagree, one set of elected leaders are trying to do things for the good of everyone. On the other side, those that are elected, do everything to cause people to lose faith in the government. All to their personal benefit.

Anyone that is a member of the Republican Party and believes in policy and doing things for the country, even if I vehemently disagree with them, are cast aside. I don’t think I’d ever agree with Liz Cheney on anything, but she has her principles and stood by them. For that, I respect her.

I wouldn’t go as far as respecting her, but a firm acknowledgment of her willingness to stand shoulder to shoulder at a breach in the wall moment is due.

Respect would have been earned if her & others like her would’ve done what needed to be done to save their party from becoming what it has become

I respect her for making a decision she knew was going to cost her a political career. She was willing to put other things that probably would align with her to one side to stand for something else. Even if that came at personal cost. I say that knowing she could turn that into $ another way.

Republicans have completely abandoned any semblance of government having a baseline set of standards. It's all grievance and identity politics, nothing about keeping the trains running on time. It's the main reason I can't see myself ever voting for ANY of them ever again.

The big problem is a small part of the press questions the way msm has been treating what's happening in America and the eternal both sides.
The politicians are a reflex of the society we live in and the large part has strings attached to big donors who are the ones really running the show.

There is no news outlet that fears anything worse from a Harris win than maybe some loss of access. They have serious reason to fear legal and financial consequences for annoying Republicans if Trump wins.
