It's GREAT! I can't emphasize how quick and responsive everything is, and I haven't had to use Terminal (yet). Things just work. No Bluetooth issues, no bad AMD drivers, it found my wireless printer immediately. The only issue I had was choosing my drives when selecting one to reformat. - ThreadSky

I had some boot load issues. Initially it had issues finding the kernal. I did a full install and wiped my windows away so no dual boot but it still wants to do grub. I just type "exit" and it goes away but a little annoying. Other than that, I got everything working smoothly and easily.

I was just lucky. I built my tower four years ago and added/upgraded parts every year at tax time. It's now a Ryzen 7 5800X3D with a 7800 XT GPU and 32GBs of RAM. The problem is, it's built around an AM4 motherboard, and AM4 is retired.

Still blessed hardware + great Linux install = like new PC.

I was the opposite! Back in the year 2000 I was reading PC World and wishing that I would have the brains to one day assemble my own rig. I finally did it in 2021, even with off-the-shelf parts (SCARY as I-don't-know-what!). A friend came to watch me build it. It felt great starting it up!

I gained experience with internal hardware cleaning and replacing parts in my extended family's machines. But my favorite was when I bought a 2009 Mac mini and pried it open to replace the HDD and upgrade the RAM. Having a Mac that didn't melt while playing Counter-Strike Source was so good.

ya that will get you buy for a long while... seems like the hardware has become a little stagnant as far as specs. only thing taking off still is the video card stuff.
