A list is the same as a feed for your purposes, if all you're looking for is a set list of posters that someone can pin to their app. If you'd like something that also/instead searches for keywords, that's a feed, and I can make one for you if that's helpful, or I can steer you to instructions
Joshua, can you please repost instructions on creating a feed? You were kind enough to share your advice when I first came over a year ago, but I wasn't savvy enough to take advantage at the time. I'm ready to try again now.
My pleasure! I've never posted super-detailed instructions, but take a glance at this thread here, and then let me know if you have questions. That might even help me figure out how to address the topic in a future thread.
I'm trying to use Skyfeed and it just flat out isn't co-operating. For some reason the regex "/#NBL\S*|#WNBL\S*|#GoOpals|#GoBoomers|#AussieHoops/gmi" matches only the WNBL hashtags, even though there are newer NBL-tagged posts on Bsky.
Also, no way to include none/include all based on users?
It always makes me happy to see people building their own communities and pursuing their own enthusiasms here, even when they aren't mine! I like so many posts I don't fully understand because other people's excitement is contagious lol
"On Bluesky, a "list" is essentially a collection of specific user accounts you choose to group together, while a "feed" is a curated stream of posts based on certain criteria, like specific keywords, hashtags, or a selection of users,
allowing for more fine-tuned content filtering than simply following a list of accounts; essentially, lists are about who you follow, while feeds are about what kind of content you want to see"
Lists are easy to make. Click on "List" in side bar to create a new list. Go to profiles of ppl you want
to add, click on three dots ("...") on upper right side & "Add to lists", to add person to your list.
ONCE CREATED, you can let followers know about your List by providing a link, just like you did for Starter Pack. Once ppl click on it, they can "pin to home" just like they do for feeds.
Might be more useful then for what youβre trying to accomplish, Mina. Easier for people to toggle from that screen between who theyβre following and the list of people youβre curating for an NFL Sunday.
Feeds have more customizability than lists, post order/age, additionally hashtags. Lists were initially just for moderation, muting/blocking, but you can also use them for a chronological list of posts.
I would like an nfl feed. My βfollowingβ is still pretty bleak as this is starting out. Feeds is a good way to find new people and hopefully differing opinions.
I like feeds, I donβt necessarily want to see everything that the beat writers for my team post but itβs nice being able to easily check in on all of them. I put together one for the Lions based on a starter pack that @coltonpouncy.bsky.social made https://bsky.app/profile/orca.wales/feed/aaaf7jwnhcaio
I think an NFL feed for Sundays would help more know about the feature (good for BlueSky), and make it easier for the NFL fans from X to transfer over.
On gamedays I flip back and forth through like 6 different feeds that are Dolphins focused, General NFL, and a mix of both.
I've found that no individual feed manages to capture sufficient content on it's own, and some of them are slow to refresh/update, but all of them combined do the trick
Only thing good/I miss is the instant and constant flow of NFL news, takes, highlights from people I like and want to hear from. Custom feeds for NFL just go off of keyword and donβt refresh fast enough for a game day :/
I've had Arif's NFL feed and I find myself mostly ignoring it. I do like flipping between them on occasion, but I'm not using the feed's much yet. One thing I haven't figured out is how to add them in https://deck.blue
And I rec Ty for your NFL feed and starter packs, @minakimes.bsky.social!

Thanks -- for eveything you do here!

Will you say a little more to help me understand what "include none / include all based on users" would mean?
When I click on Mina's profile then I don't see her NFL pack (not sure what it means either π)
For example, here's a Carolina Panthers feed:

Here's the docs lol
