Some things are nice. The graphical techniques are actually pretty cool and advanced for the gamecube. The animations are smooth and sometimes the gamefeel is good

But the writing feels extremely phoned-in, even compared with other games where it isn't at all the point
And the level and mechanics design feel like a weird parallel-universe Zelda game where, despite being from Nintendo, everything is just A Little Bad

Example: there are these giant mushrooms and when you get close, they put out spores that hurt you
There's a hallway with two of them; one is to the left, and the next is to the right
So you have to weave to not get hurt, right?
Wrong. Even if you weave, you'll get hit by both
