With the daylight shift moved to before April (an insult which should at least be redressed), this allows an extra hour of after-school, after-work sports. Golf-course operators make more money. Just a hunch that these are the most reliable Republican voters.
And if they could be convinced to *go against their own economic and personal interests* and support the elimination of DST in the US, that would be nothing short of amazing -- while suggesting they could be convinced of nearly anything.
