Not that common but I really don't like it if the roguelite elements (the ones that make the game easier) can't be turned off
Also, if part of the experience is figuring out the mechanics of each item. Enter the Gungeon teeters on that, but Binding of Isaac falls into it fully

Dialogue was sometimes played between floors, but all of it had to make sense as the first piece of dialogue you got.
