I would have to say it was some from Column A (poor suffering Rose, and to a lesser extent Henry) and some from Column B (pretty much everyone else)! 😉

I sympathised/empathised with all the parents to some degree though - while my own kids (now 14 and 17) enjoy Blackadder... 1/2

... and have been happy enough for me to have forced it upon them (both prefer S2 and S3 to all else) I got where Ruth was coming from too, having shared certain iconic (to me) shows/movies with them and just drawn a complete blank. It genuinely hurts! 🤷‍♂️😢 2/2

You mentioned Elspet Gray who played the Queen in The Black Adder. She was the wife of famous actor and farceur extraordinaire Brian Rix and around the same time appeared in the 1983 stage production of the famous farce Charley's Aunt alongside Griff Rhys Jones

Brian Rix and Elspet Gray's son Jamie was producer of Alas Smith and Jones in the 1980s and their daughter Louisa co-starred with Mel in the sitcom Colin's Sandwich. So there!

Mel and Griff introduced Queen at Live Aid in 1985. Griff was very put out that he seemed to have been written out of the event when they made the Bohemian Rhapsody film a few years ago

He was joking! But they did have someone playing Mel in it introducing the band - the film makers nevertheless decided to economise by only having half the double act!
