Although Hajime Isayama did something pretty funny. When the live-action Attack on Titan was being was written, he kept complaining how it wasn't different enough. When the movie came out, he ridiculed the movie for being too different.
And I think for Attack on Titan, it's a problem of runtime. The movie is about 3 hours, and while that's pretty long, it's not enough for how much story there is.
i feel like taking away the animation makes it cringe, getting to appreciate the artistry of animation is a huge part of it for me, and they just can’t recreate that feeling in live actions
The Erased Live Action Drama is one of those Manga that got a really good live action adaptation. It's better than the 2016 film, and it manages to fully adapt the final arc. It's on Netflix, highly recommended.
