I highly doubt Miyazaki or Fromsoft are pushing for these DMCAs. I believe the Miyazaki quote was along the lines of "We want as many people to play it as possible"
I don't think they'd give a fuck about fan games or mods. They didn't go after fan mods, translations or anything for King's Field 🤷

I think about this a lot with game design book writing. In a book of level design essays I edited years ago, Brian Upton wrote a thorough analysis of P.T. In a book on action-adventure level design, I wrote about Link’s Awakening HD DX. It gets these lost fan games and demos into the “canon”
