Not at all! I started with a beginner's kit I randomly purchased online which encourages learning some basic stitches. If ever I needed additional help, I've also learned a ton from Youtube vids. ☺️

I used a rather cheap 100% cotton fabric that I would not recommend. :) I did satin, leaf, outline, spider web rose, and long-and-short stitches along with a few French knots.
