Why would they invite us to continue what we do?
Is this a challenge or a threat? It’s our day to day habit. Yet, ok.. if that makes you feel better! First research project of the day… to bleed into your Thanksgiving Meal tomorrow.
Was the FIRST THANKSGIVING MEAL.. before or after the genocide?
Your message is well detailed and thank you for sharing. I found most people like to comment but never do any research about a subject matter and they are always right ✅️
I love that one of your advocacy groups is building a library in Kenya! I would also encourage you to build libraries here that have none. Just this week a post said that, in 2024, a community of 12,500 was getting their FIRST library. I find this astounding.
I love the “Do your own research!” demands. I’m not a librarian, but I do know a thing or 2 about peer reviewed journals, meta analysis, reputable studies and how to use a Boolean phrase.
The times I’ve been told do my own research by family or friends when I literally have an MS doing research… But I digress Mom, tell me why RFK is gonna make everything better.
The thing is? I usually need their sources. So I can debunk said sources, or at least point out they aren't reliable.
"Do your own research" is often the cry of someone wanting a reason to feel superior, thinking they have secret knowledge.
...And it's usually claptrap they're fetishizing.
Whenever I see someone claim they did their own research, I always ask them in which reputable peer-reviewed journal they were published in... And they almost always block me instead of responding.

... you know ...
Google gets you ALL the information, librarians get you the relevant information.
