how frequently does node backport features like this case? and how far back? i'm saddened that the temporal api won't be unflagged until v25, maybe it will be eventually backported? or since that relies on a v8 upgrade could it not be?

Yes, it is heartbreaking, the tragedy of the commons in full display. Government involvement may be needed, more programs at the European level maybe. OSS being underfunded is the norm, but y'all at node in particular should have so much more available with all the value you give to everyone.

another great example, @joyeecheung.bsky.social backported require(esm) all the way back to Node 20. A lot of projects will be able to migrate to esm only in a month, instead of having to wait another year.
