60 is always gonna be perfectly fine but I can absolutely tell the difference with higher framerates. I'm never gonna be like "ugh 60 fps" but I love playing games at 144 when it's possible.
Full agree on the graphics takes though, games don't even look much better than they did 10 years ago.

Honestly yeah, like too many people say "game bad" because it runs at 30fps like dude it's so dumb to call an entire game bad because it's 30fps and the resolution isn't 4k with ray tracing like we should judge the game more on how its controlled and how good the story is and not graphics..

Only thing High-Rez graphics do is bloat the game's file size to ridiculous proportions; at this point I'm fully expecting a game to release with a 1 TB file size. :/

Gimme more stylized graphics that are more pleasing to the eye and less storage intensive.

the issue is moreso that optimization is fucking Dead:tm: and we've been sitting at 1080p60 for the better part of a decade and a half without moving past it and even now are moving back towards 720p30 (unstable) in most cases. (no, FSR does not remove input latency)

non-stable framerates suck.

i am not a gamurr:tm: but the reason games look like vaseline is because of a ton of "new graphics technologies" that make particles and lighting look better being used as a crutch and lots of junior developers not understanding what a multithread is

oh and i guess your storage :) but that's just poor compression. developers can fix that too. we don't need 8K textures baked into the game files for sure, though (thanks MHW)

You used to be able to slap together an entire section of a game in a couple days because making textures and models was pretty simple.

I miss those days, when a team making a triple A game could be like 15 guys.

Like yeah 60 to 90 is noticeable but it's still a pretty nice smooth experience so it doesn't matter unless you're playing something competitive

Like, due to a cousin I've experienced gaming literally at it's highest point of 144 fps with everything on Ultra on some beeg graphic games and most of the time I could just barely tell?
Like, there is something there but it just isn't important enough to make most computers/consoles explode

60 to 120 specifically is a decent difference, but 60 itself should be the gold standard; 120 is a luxury really. Texture resolutions don't matter nearly as much as they keep trying to pretend they do, though. Game compression is a fucking lost art at this point because of it, I stg.
