Yes. The entire toolkit of the behavioral sciences are laid out, like knives on a table, for use by GOP messaging operatives on the population.
Like any "technology" malevolent actors will gladly exploit it.

I think we have to accept the harsh reality that a fairly decent number of people are “willing” subjects. An audience with an agenda.

Not to be a pessimist, but I am beginning to believe that a growing plurality would watch the world burn, as long as their little corner was insulated.

Many feel powerless, confused, and fearful. A recipe for compliance/collaboration in the face of strength.

I just think this goes beyond the liberal project writ large, beyond global politics writ large and is more a developmental trajectory for humans.

Technology has freed us from the confines of evolutionary biology - but we have not paced in our ability to be responsible stewards.

Yes, I can see that. Primates with enough intelligence to create amazing tools but insufficient wisdom to handle them properly.
I still have some hope. I am just not discounting the power of unforeseen twists that history throws at all of us, including autocrats. Hoping to be surprised, I guess.

These "doctors" are asked to make a psychiatric evaluation so other institutions can plan on whether they accept the patiens transness or not. Everything relies on it. (1/4)

However, they are europeans, and academics and they love their textbooks. So much even, that they do not believe anything outside these books exist. If a patient would say smth that differs from these textbooks, they usually get an evaluation stating they are clearly not trans/enby. (2/4)

So, to get their care, name changes and even more evaluations approved, they lie and tell the psychiatrists exactly what these need to hear. On social media throusands of guides exists with how to do so, so your care gets approved. Includingy enbies pretending to be binary to get their care (3/4)

But these evaluations are also done by big institutions who often (without asking for agreement) use their info from these as a base for studies and more textbooks.

result is that lot of the science abt trans people in europe does not reflect reality in any way and is just statistical nonsense. 4/4
