fwiw, I personally believe that if I don’t notice any errors after finishing something, it likely means one of two things: • I spent too much time on it. • I haven’t improved enough to recognize my mistakes. Either way, spotting errors is a positive sign. 🙂 - ThreadSky

It’s also good to take some breathing space and time before critiquing your work. Sometimes the errors you focus on at first don’t actually matter, does the artwork work as a whole? Maybe the wonky bits help?

That's a great way of putting it. Obsessing over the mistake is something to avoid though.

Just make a note of it and be more conscious avoiding it for your next piece.

It's a way to kind of break your muscle memory of the art we work on (it's like the mirror trick). Different format, so you go "wait, wtf is THAT?" lol

I'll even do this with stuff I KNOW has a mistake *somewhere*, but I can't find it. Post online? AH-HAH there you are.
