Welp…so a couple weeks after this happened to @nkalamb.bsky.social my NEXUS was just revoked by DHS.

It’s not a coincidence.

Sorry American friends and colleagues, looks like I won’t be at events in the US any time soon.

I’m very curious about how much longer I will be able to cross that border. I was, once upon a time, very involved in the sort of politics that would mark me as impure.

My saving grace may that be that I’m nobody.

Yeah, I think that's likely the case for me too. But planning a trip to visit family in Wisconsin this summer, the idea of there being even a small chance of losing that much money at the very last minute for no reason is making us rethink our plans.

I understand. Had really been thinking of taking the kids down to Utah, see some family, visit places I remember or that I always wanted to see. But now…well, it just doesn’t sound like such a great idea anymore.

Yep, it’s going to be super ridiculous. My uncle was turned away at the border the last time orange guy was in. He served time and was pardoned by the cnd govt for drug trafficking (just weed, it was the 70s), and he was honest when asked. The boarder guard said they didn’t recognize his pardon.
