Giant Freaking Robot should never be taken seriously, but as far as I can tell Star Trek is the only non-reality TV franchise that has been able to get shows to five seasons on streaming — with SNW likely on it’s way to being the next one.

Good? Relevant? no.
Star Trek was a set of ideals set forth by a dude who wanted people to have a future that wasn't based on petty friction. These shows are based in petty friction and action schlock. Not telling the difference doesn't erase it.
A lot of people just want their favourite Trek or even style of emulated and are pissed off when it’s not — especially when it wasn’t trying to.
I may well make a video discussing its pros and cons one day but not to hate on it like these jackasses.
Even on rewatch, that was a slog to get through
Back in the day, we used to grumble about how Berman ruined Star Trek.
Dude never found a good idea he didn't wanna stamp into the ground.
Trek episodes made by people who actively ignored or avoided him are usually the best ones.
Like, when I see ppl talk about Berman made good Trek, I was scratching my head
(To be clear, very little we love of Trek can be directly attributed to him & usually happened in spite of him or with ppl sneaking to do a think he couldn't take back after it went to air)
Giant Freaking Robot was who I was talking about.
(Despite the recent movie being horrifically underfunded and cut fine from the series we should have got).
It’s totally fine if you didn’t like Discovery, you’re never expected to like every series… but this obsession with trying to delegitimise Disco just smells like some bigoted BS.
The show that spawned four subsequent shows (including three direct sequels) is certainly not one of those times
