Dumb question, is it more stable on GoG? My steam version always crashes a few times a playthrough, not enough to be unplayable but enough to be annoying

GOG has pre-applied some unofficial fixes to DAO to improve stability as part of their game preservation program. e.g. the 4GB patch is pre-installed, and it runs on fewer CPU cores.
