Yes, but I think we can go back even further, back to the Reagan era war on education when the Moral Majority started having way too much influence over school textbooks and curricula, or farther back to the Nixon-era Southern Strategy. This "instant" failure has been half a century in the making.
We need to take down Fox like we have taken down Tesla. Boycott Fox. Demand that Comcast remove Fox as a channel in your personal lineup. Boycott all Fox supporters.
Sadly I don’t think it would do much good. Only trumpets watch Fox and they ain’t going to turn the channel off, that’s for sure. And I’ve worked for cable companies. You can’t just take off one channel that’s included in your lineup. You’d have to shut off your cable in order to protest fox.

It's a lot deeper than that. Reagan allowed propaganda disguised as news, not only from Fox but also paid liars like Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage and Sean Hannity. And the current version of them: Like Shapiro and the others.

my ex fil watched Fox and listened to Rush Limbaugh, I didn't understand until I was in my 30s (I was either working or out helping my neighbor with her horses) it fully explained my ex behavior towards women.
