it sucks so bad! and I still have to pay copays, like my therapy is $25 extra a week, my meds are up to $50 a month and an extra $60 on top of that every 3 months, it’s wild. I went to the doctor for my back pain and it was $80 between copays and meds

it really isn’t, we need massive healthcare reform. and those copays are actually cheap because I pay for the expensive insurance because I’m disabled. and the insurance company still tells me where i can be treated, etc.

And on average, if you have employer based healthcare, the employer pays 5x what you pay.

It’s a ridiculous system that hides the true cost. Between myself and my employer, my health insurance costs nearly 20k a year.

I try pointing out that if that money was part of your salary, then even if universal healthcare cost you $10,000 in higher taxes, you still come out 10k a year better.

But I also worry that some private employers would not pass along the savings.

The American public is too easy to manipulate.

that’s the key part, whether or not the savings would be passed on. It’s a terrible system that’s set to exploit peoples’ health for profit and it leaves people like me in the dust. And I’m one of the lucky ones - i will be put out a bit but won’t lose my home over paying the new rate. Some would.
