I don't want to say there were always rumors in WisCon circles but...yeah. There shouldn't be much denial about it anymore.

There is a grieving process I think? His description in American Gods of the area around Spring Green was one of my favorites in literature.

I watched the Leftist's Cooks video on it, and agree with their take: It's not he had people fooled. No person is living lie detector. Actual lie detectors can be "fooled". He wrote things we like(d) and purported to share our morals. You and I and everyone isn't a Holmes who must ferret out evil.

I feel as if I’m grieving a death. I cannot read the article for my own well being, but I am honestly just so, so angry and sad and disappointed. But also given the timeline we are living in I have come to expect the worst of people most of the time

I think it’s like with anyone who’s works you have admired but they turn out to be a monster. It’s a great reminder that humans are capable of such beauty and cruelty at the same time. We have a choice in what we do. For those that admired his work, that can be separate from the person…with time
