While republicans steered the ship with the “no capitulation, no quarter” mantra even in times they were a minority party, establishment dems are convinced to the point it seems like a suicide pact, that they have to capitulate and “cooperate” to make political progress when their rivals didn’t.

The population who doesn’t vote in this country is close to 46%. They aren’t politically uninvolved either. They are actually quite vocal about their issues with democrats, and it isn’t because they’re voting red. But dems keep swinging for allies like the Cheney family.

Let me give a historical lesson to give you a broader picture. Maine has a pretty high local turnout by comparison. But the Maine Democratic Party made the asinine decision to run 2 candidates in the same bid in 2010. Lepage won with just 38%.
