Tim’s did sell out to a US conglomerate. However, while not Canadian, McDonalds switched to Tim’s coffee after that merger finished. At least in Canada, in terms of better coffee, McDonald’s it is.

Just an fyi, there have been US helicopters flying over my little border town for 2 days “to ensure the safety and integrity of the border”. I live 3 minutes from the US border and I will NEVER step foot in the US again. I feel like I’m in a war zone.

Timmy's has been terrible since they sold out to an American company. Their product is awful & their ability to give you what you ordered is abysmal.
They dumped our Canadian values and quality when they took over. Looking for Canadian suppliers now rings hollow & is nothing more than a PR stunt.

Ever since the acquisition back in the 2010s, Timmy's quality and reputation have fallen dramatically. RBI, the owners are traded on the Dow and the TSE.

At a Tim hortons where I was born, the owners of a franchise somehooowww had their son win a car from rollup the rim and I know from corporate competitions my dad’s company had, I couldn’t enter. Never looked at the company the same after that, regardless if it was a franchise.

In my humble opinion, the best choice will always be a local independant cafe. They will tell you where they source their beans, and quite often roast them on the premises. Not only Candian but local and TASTES GREAT.
