I've never been able to understand why celery root / celeriac is so expensive in Canada. Around $14-16/kg. My wife says it's 1/4 the price in Europe.

It's
- grown locally
- hardy
- easy to grow
- has a long growing season (one neg).

So why is it $6-7/lb here? One of the most expensive root veg.
