I generally try to drive backroads and get off the beaten path, and discover less "touristed" places and things. But, sometimes you just can't pass up the state/national parks, because there is so much profound beauty in those places.
And yes, perspective and composition is very important.

I've been there many times.
I traded the Upstate/Central NY life for the beach life years ago.
But we still have a Summer home in the Adirondacks.

Nice. We visited St. Augustine a couple of years back.
I wish my wife liked the beach life. Growing up, I spent all my summers with family on my mother's side who lived in the panhandle. (Pensacola, Milton, Ft. Walton Beach)

They have had a rough go with Hurricanes the past few years but it's nice up there.

It truly is. I make a point every year to try to travel to a new area of the country and bring my camera. I usually try to travel in October because it is almost always perfect weather (regardless of location) and often will get some fall color. I travel backroads whenever I can.

I wish I could. I can only travel by automobile because of my disease, so it truly limits where I can go. Airplanes are just too risky for my health. I miss having independence.

Such stunning country WG is. Long way from NY when I went in early 70’s to watch F1 races. Sound was unparalleled. Echoing off the mountains, clear, clean could feel it in your diaphragm.
