A little further south in Changhua, west of the epicenter. Plenty of structures at the back of the plains were heavily damaged in the quake.

I'm not sure about the laws in Changhua but if it's anything like Hualien they'd have a two-tier system: condemned and unfit for habitation or use, condemned and also in need of rapid demolition. Local government might have been trying to avoid footing the bill.

I spent nearly four hours combing through something like 16 floors of horrors, decay, and debris. This was an entertainment complex so it also featured twin theaters, numerous arcades, and an entire floor with private rooms for watching films on videotape (a typical getaway for high school romance).

This was the tallest building in the city when it was constructed in the late 80s/early 90s. The rooftop karaoke club was astrology-themed, sing your heart out beneath the stars! There were also two cram schools, one around the ninth or tenth floor, where urban explorers now leave notes in chalk.

Very cool. Just wondering, do the cotton gloves do the job? It seems they may not do well when it comes touching to pointy/wet things.

These are the standard utility gloves from 7-Eleven. I've been using them for the better part of 10 years but you're right, they're mostly for touching dusty and possibly contaminated things but wouldn't be any good for wet surfaces. I should probably get some proper work gloves one day.
