When in the past I’ve been doing a lot of travel I sometimes just kept my passport in my regular shoulder bag rather than always putting it in a drawer or wherever between trips.
Me neither, but then I guess it would fit into the lying for victimhood theory. If the article didn't say they saw a thief on surveillance footage I'd wonder if there was any theft at all.
I totally believe she would lie for victimhood reasons. I mean, obviously! But on the other hand, losing the passport etc looks terrible. But back on the first hand, I totally believe she would be a terrible judge of what stuff would look like.
It's the difference between "somebody stole a handbag and $100" and "somebody stole all my vital documents, forcing me to go through a ton of hardship and uncertainty." Makes it seem like an invasion of privacy, a potential step towards other crimes against her in the future.
