Yes, what I dislike about dismissal is that there're cases in which the other stance is objectiv. valid or invalid. Ex.: "gen 1 Pokémon is literally unplayable" is a bad take repeated without firsthand experience, cause it's patently false. MM3D being bad is a valid stance whether you agree or not.

Some form of opinion herding is inevitable in any media. I'm not faulting the YouTubers for expressing their opinions. But I'veseen too many times where people who didn't even care about the N64 version suddenly act like a purist.

Yeah but I think the "not a good remaster" stance is entirely valid. Sure MM is a masterpiece and a suboptimal remaster isn't going to make it shit, but it does take away from the original. Whether that takes away from the individual experience as well varies.
