Tradition !! Real ingredients. There was (?is) a tortilla factory behind HEB in Kerrville... best tortillas (along with Mamacita's). I lived in TX for 17 yrs, and miss good tortillas. Only place I can get any now are as a side at ONE restaurant in my hometown (near Chicago).

This is so true. A Mexican family lived across the street from us in Modesto, CA, when I was a teenager. Watching the mother make tortillas was like watching art. I've never had better ones.

My mom made tortillas by hand although our childhood, while taking care of her 9 children! Fresh just made Torts with butter was the best. She couldn’t keep them stacked quick enough. And yes the special ingredient didn’t come from a recipe.. it was pure Sorcery! 💚

Brought back memories of my mom. She couldn’t make them fast enough! My siblings and I would stand by to snatch them up, cut them open and slather them with butter and salt. So delicious! I make them for my family every once in a while but mine never puff up the way my mom’s did. Definitely magic. 💕
