Ooo this actually made it to my Netflix in Canada too. I dropped #HiddenLove because I found the main pairing was really uncomfortable. You can read more of my review on it. I couldn't watch Hidden Love. I have a handful of insta drops for me. It's not the age gap itself, but the visual of using a female child actor, but also the actual 20 something ML. It wouldn't have bothered if they used a younger teen male actor for the scenes in the past

I had a hard time at first too because of the age gap. But after she’s gone to college it’s really a good story from there. I guess they wanted to highlight the crush from when she was younger. Skip a few episodes and try again. You might enjoy it better.

Yep, I dropped this on episode 21 out of 25. So she was in college and they have started dating. I addressed this in my review:

Oh I didn’t know you were that far along. It’s not for everyone, but their behavior and awkwardness are prevalent in most cdramas and kdramas. Most adults act like teenagers in love.

Hidden Love was my first CDrama but I can't say I agree with that assessment on KDrama. I think I've seen enough romance kdramas that the overly infantilized female was not common. Even when an "Aegyo" made a showing, it definitely didn't feel like a 6 years old trapped in a 19 years old body.

I see teenage love portrayed in many romance kdramas but not to the extreme of 6 yo perspective. Maybe the hidden love is infantile love (crush) you’re speaking of but for me I didn’t see it that way. It’s the reverting back to teenage awkwardness of what to do next in a relationship.

Thanks for your review. I really relate. I felt most uncomfortable in their "intimate moments". They didn't feel like lovers. She tried always to escape his approach like if she were still a little child. lack of passion, desire or uncontrollable feelings made it feel like a sibling relationship.

Yeah it was really unfortunate as I enjoyed pretty much everything else - the actual sibling interactions was really heartwarming as Sang Xi can still be vulnerable to her brother even after they grew up.

Couldn't take the main romance anymore, so I dropped it.
