yes this is true! although i will admit to forgetting to harvest at the right time and then having to clean spores off my table/furniture LOL but i dont think theyre harmful unless you have a super sensitive respiratory system maybe, its not like with mold spores
Ohh cool! I maybe wanted to do some mushroom growing myself, but I don’t really have a place to put them… I also haven’t really looked into how expensive it could be haha. Would a bedroom be good for growing mushrooms or dangerous?
Depending on the mushroom, you can basically grow them anywhere! There are lots of kits available that can be a good place for a beginner to start bc they're pretty compact and inexpensive, while giving you the ability to observe the process every step of the way 😁
I'm in Europe too! I mostly try & get kits from local organic mushroom farms, so have a look for what's available in your country specifically ~ if you happen to be in Ireland though 😝 Ballyhoura Mountain Mushrooms have some lovely diy kits available and you get SO MANY mushies from a single kit 🙌
ive grown them before!! i love them - i just dont always go for them now bc they grow and drop spores SO fast sometimes Lmao! i stop paying attention for one day and suddenly its a mess
This is true. I got some great footage of the spores releasing, from the last photoshoot so they are all backlit like that and it looks like glitter in the air. But wow, the dust.
I grew mushrooms once, but for some reason seeing them in a big clump sparks some sort of primal fear in me. I don't even know what the phobia would be called.
Portobellos scare me. I think it's a smaller scale version of standing by the ocean. I can deal with the Baby Bellas, but taking home the full-sized Bellas to eat seems kind of like taking home a tarantula to eat - what if it suddenly jumps up and gets you.
Honestly though the mushrooms are glowing out of your hand! Anyways the mushrooms look cozy to lay down and zone out while random songs playing in my head
How long did these grow for? I faintly remember growing some culinary mushrooms a few years ago and the speed at which they grew was almost inconvenient
Plus its always fun seeing the size of fruiting body that ends up emerging from the tiny holes you poke into whatever you're using, its kind of wild how much you get from shroomin' yourself

They're becoming more accessible thanks to agriculture research; you might even find "Grow Block" kits at your local grocery store!
Good kits typically include growth timeline + descriptions
ive grown snow oysters recently and found them to be more manageable while tasting similar!
