Cancelled my Amazon Prime over a year ago. The first month was hard. Now? I do not even think of it or miss it one bit.

I'd been a prime member since the offered it in the 2000s. was buying just cd's and books from them in the late 90s. Cancelled my membership and will not be buying from them ever again. When you set at a table with nazis, you are also a nazi, and bezos certainly is one.

When I was in uni I did a paper on organizational power structures at Amazon and specifically dug into how they exploit and abuse the regulations and laws about contractors and subcontractors, as well as work requirements for gov benefits. Made me more anti-Amazon than I already was

I do realize that there are edge cases because they have consumed so many small retailers or their shipping solution, but, as an everyday thing it’s not required for living.

and i get the edge cases & the medical cases & “every retailer i know uses aws” & all of the other insidious tendrils. it just boggles the mind the number of people i know who are like “i hope those workers unionize & oop that’s my ring doorbell the first of today’s two prime deliveries is here.”
