But you are correct, Excel is under rated as a modelling tool for cgi!
It's text based, and pretty much a list of comma separated coordinates.
This is what point definitions look like:
v 0.00000000 0.15954299 0.02526800

I often use it to turn XYZ orbit coordinates into geometry, for an accurate track.
You define a polygon using vertex numbers, (in the order defined).
