Xbox chief Phil Spencer swung by Bloomberg HQ in NYC yesterday. He said:
- They’re planning a handheld but it’s years away
- There are no “red lines” for which Xbox games will come to PlayStation
- The business is healthier now (no more big cuts?)

He lost of lot of weight
I know some Xbox faithfuls might have some feelings about it understandably but Xbox has being transition into more of a service than an actual box for a while now
Very interested in an Xbox handheld at hopefully a reasonable price.
They've basically said as much.
Microsofts digital split is way larger in digitals favor their sonys.
There's a reason the new series x doesn't even have a drive.
Forza, Halo, Gears, Fable, Starfield… oh my god
We're kinda already seeing it with their pricing.
At most, timed exclusivity is the most to expect for big games, until whatever the next big shift is.
idk man dude looks tired, maybe it’s the white background, but there’s stress in his face that simply wasn’t there before
Selling Xbox titles on other platforms will be when Xbox goes software only. Why buy an Xbox then? And a handheld? now? Nintendo built its install base over decades. Steamdeck has thousands of games running. This seems like a mistake since game pass is struggling to profit
I dunno... Seems like a bad idea
He looks as if he aged 10 years in the last 2. Bad sign for anyone wanting to work for Microsoft, I guess.
A year exclusivity for example, something concrete.
I own both systems so it is difficult to know when to play or when to wait.
If their stock keeps falling, that might very well end up being Square Enix.
Anyone else catch that? He is not wrong about that.
This will be my game until ESVI lands, as Skyrim was before it.
I haven't heard anyone from Xbox say it didn't meet expectations.
But their American studios, well... https://www.thedrive.com/news/forza-motorsport-developer-shares-exhausting-experience-making-the-game

Lots of live service games these days give off an "oh, it's another one of those" vibe. But Xbox's focus on unique games pays off once in a while, even if it sometimes doesn't work.
Still doesn't excuse them of their own completely unforced errors, but still.
Seriously, why the hell did they get rid of Tango Gameworks after making their best game in years?
Phil, we need to talk
I was hoping they were going to be closer to a product we might see in the new year.
