For the first time, all the seating at the Estadio Benito Villamarín will be under cover, with the addition of a ring-compressed poly-carbonate roof. Similar in design to Atléti's Metropolitano, the front edge of the roof will incorporate floodlighting and video screens

At a projected cost of €70m, the rebuild will result in a slight decrease in capacity and will necessitate Betis vacating the stadium for the next two seasons & head across the Rio Guadalquivir to the renovated (and track-less!) Estadio La Cartuja.

Renovation is always better than demolishing it to build a new stadium. I hope that the works are not delayed too much and that the Betis fans can enjoy their legendary stadium as soon as possible.
