The scale of the challenge facing the Government as it tries to restore order to the children's social care 'market' becomes clear when you consider the sheer number of children's homes being set up by companies for profit. π§΅

It really is madness. Children transplanted hundreds of miles from their support networks, councils being charged up to 10k per child per week and children's well-being ignored in the pursuit of money. Looking after these children should not be driven by profit. It's scandalous.
Just started following you. I can see the obscene profiteering here but was looking for a broader explanation of why. Clearly lots of money is being spent providing often v poor service. Is there an issue with number of kids in care. Why aren't councils able to run their own?
