Unless, of course, the Neanderthals had the innate propensity for violence and mayhem but lacked the intellectual ability to carry it out on a massive societal level. And it was that intellect that came from the Ancestral Africans that combined with their instinct to create the Hilters & Leopolds.

They adapted to the environment in Eurasia by having very dense, robust bodies, but that has very high energy costs (like 4,000 kcal/day), so food shortages would’ve been devastating

Is it? Or is it the proper response to European scientists' attempt to revive the late 19th century pseudo science of racial eugenics? Seems to me that they're the ones claiming that Neanderthals saved humanity. Only that statement excludes all ancestral Africans. Are they NOT human?

this is a news headline, the scientists didn't write it. headlines like this are misquoted or made up or stretched heavily for virtually all scientific studies, when you go to the actual studies they almost never line up.

Europeans aren’t the only ones with Neanderthal DNA. their DNA is present in all populations except Sub-Saharan Africans. East Asians have more of their DNA than Europeans do

and improved anything is entirely dependent on the context. just bc something was beneficial 40kya, doesn’t mean it is now
