pretty much every single artist or creative person I know is running their own small business now - fuck you sideways for shitting on that because you think that's the same thing as a car dealership.

Also, a one day boycott is basically as useful as a music festival for peace, it's just kinda useless. People will just buy everything they needed today tomorrow or bought it yesterday. Let's talk about month long (or more) boycotts of certain businesses that are aligned with the wrong things.
It's interesting, the way self-employed artists and self-employed "personalities"—youtubers, podcasters, streamers—tend to diverge. When the commodity you're selling is yourself it feels more imperative to make money, since YOU are the money, hence the reactionary slide of many streamer types imo
Yeah, someone asked for clarity on today’s boycott, and I said small biz ok, cash ok then some wonk said small biz not ok, cooperatively owned ok. I responded “Great, I’m a small business owner, guess I’ll go fuck myself.” This is what happens when ideology runs amok without any sense of nuance.
"small business" is a canard. A law firm with a billion dollars of revenue and 25 employees and partners is a "small business". A useful useless term, like "middle class" or "patriotic".
