The forthcoming anthology, which features work by Professor Enright from the UCD School of English, Drama and Film and UCD’s writer-in-residence from 2021, Niamh Campbell, also contains writing by UCD alumni Estelle Birdy, @Kevin Curran, Roddy Doyle, Sarah Gilmartin and Karl Whitney.
The collection is the One Dublin One Book choice for April 2025. For the last two decades, One Dublin One Book has encouraged everyone in the city to read the same book during April.
Published by The Stinging Fly Press, the anthology features fiction, poetry, essays and memoir pieces by 22 writers capturing Dublin in the first quarter of this century.
“The collection reflects the spirit of Dublin and its inhabitants in the first quarter of the 21st century,” said Owens Mairead, Dublin City Librarian, announcing the choice. “I know it will have broad appeal.”
The One Dublin One Book initiative encourages reading for pleasure and invites readers to participate in various events organised across the city associated with the selected book. Details of the programme of events will be announced on 4th March.
