President Trump’s use of unilateral authority to enact new import taxes, his contradictory policies and his history of changing course may discourage business executives from building the factories he envisions.

Why this won’t cause prices to go up. If a widget costs $100, tariffs bump that to $110. “U.S. companies will now make that widget here” you say. OK, why would the U.S company charge $100? They’ll charge $109, just slightly less than the foreign one.

Exactly true. Labor costs here are very high. Skill pools for many product productions are very thin in the areas of the country most attractive for building plants. And now the whole f—-g thing can get pulled down every 4 years by this shit? Yeah, sign me up!
