if youre tired of hearing negative things about the democrats, stop accepting mediocrity from democratic leaders and stop insulating them from criticism of doing a poor job on politics and communication.

It’s not “the democrats”, I’m a democrat. So when you say we’re failures, I’m also a failure. I’m at the point where if I’m a failure, you can fix it. It’s the democrat haters turn to muster up one solid plan, we are counting on you and waiting.
A) Agreed, and B) Having stood across the street from Chuck Schumer's home with dozens of other protestors screaming our lungs out to no avail--beginning with his vote for the Iraq war--it's my impression these folks are pretty fucking well insulated internally. It doesn't mean don't try, but...
This has been such a theme of the past year. From Palestine and gaza to issues regarding the border, I have felt completely abandoned by the democratic party as they shifted hard to the right. Not that I didn't feel abandoned before watching them drag as roe was overturned but
seeing blue maga as I like to call it rise and show itself, it's very depressing and bleak to think about honestly. People have lost their humanity and it's going to be terrifying without that moving forward
To me blue maga are folks who believe the Democrats can do no wrong. Genocide in the middle east? Not their problem; running unfavorable candidates instead of a typical primary, not a problem to them. You critical of the democrats at all? You must be a trumper. That is blue maga to me
Of course, that makes it all the more confusing as to why someone would put me on one of those lists, I am most certainly not their biggest fan right now.
It’s pretty sad bc a thing I always liked about our party is that we were able to hold one another accountable.
For christ sake, these people were cheering when Liz fucking Cheney decided she wanted to try to be relevant again. They cheered as college protesters for Palestine were brutalized. Blue maga to me where dems who quoted the fuckin "I'M sPeaKinG!" bullshit. And they fucking lost the election
if you say things like "the democrats talk but nobody covers it" or "the voters are just too dumb" or "our issues are too complicated to understand" you're helping to coddle the party and encouraging more mediocrity.
If we understand that the Democratic Party is our only option, that they are working hard to get the result we all want, and that they do talk and no one covers it, then we can be less angry.
You tried, it didn't work, what do we all need to do differently?
Its clearly not easy to fight GOP lies.
There is no "only option," there is only choices made every single day who you will materially or rhetorically support/elevate. Everyone is doing pragmatic voting calculus, even the right wing. How has it worked so far?
Yes there is only one option. If the morons voting for Stein or whomever or not voting understood basic reality we would have Dems elected every time. How is their embrace of "other options" working so far?
Why not ask yourself that question? If there is only one option why did Harris lose, how could she ever win again? People chose Trump, Stein, abstention, write ins. What's your strategy to win any of them, whine that you deserve their vote no matter what?
You've got it all backwards. It is not about them 'earning' votes. We are not rewarding politicians, or giving THEM a gold star. We are voting in OUR self interest. Screw their interests.
Once we understand there is just one option your question makes sense - what to do differently.
Talk about misunderstanding basic reality; you have a completely inverted understanding of the power relationship between voters and electeds/parties. We get approx 60% voter participation in a good election, and so in the end we elect whatever side with an approx. 15% consensus at best
Sure, so we work with them and on them. We don't pretend there is an alternative or that just calling them hopeless is going to improve anything at all.
That's the problem? They just need to do what they're doing now but harder? I don't believe so. And they do work hard. But they don't fight like we need them to - with message discipline and ruthlessness. More Jasmine Crockett is needed. AND a bigger issue is the literati who ignore Dem messaging.

Can you shed a little more light on it?

The times they have-a changed.
As is not learning anything from this loss.
But it's all wishful thinking; the party has proved impervious to reform. We must build dual power outside of Ds and Rs.
Of possible interest: Non-voters aren't a monolith
