The New York Times and the rest of the msm is in a concerted effort to downplay the No Kings rallies. As someone who remembers them doing the same vs the Iraq War, I can unequivocally say they were wrong and you were right. Over and over.

We really have to just ignore all the corporate owned media outlets. None of them report accurately. There is a vibrant media growing to fill the vacuum left by the MSM. Thank god the technology for content creation and distribution is widely available and not prohibitively expensive.
The Daily Mail has been the worst offender in the lies stakes that I have seen, trying to smear the No Kings rallies as having provoked "widespread violence" which, of course, is garbage. I complained about the Mail's inaccurate reporting to IPSO but I was brushed off. IPSO is part of the problem.
Yeah, but if someone had thrown a rock at a cop, it would have triggered the Centrist Outrage Op-Ed and Furrowed Brow Auto-Generator and you'd see that rock flying through the air on CNN every ten minutes for a week.
The best they'll do is 5 million nationwide. Which is total BS. I was at the Cubs victory parade in Chicago in 2016, which had crowd estimates of 5 million. And I'm expected to believe that's the number of people who showed up TOTAL in FIFTY states? 🙄The major cities alone account for that.
On the bright side, "No Kings" seems to be some damn effective marketing, or else we'd be seeing op-eds and posting debating the slogan all over the place.
Rally goers are not conducting themselves in a way that makes them attractive to advertisers, therefore media organizations are under pressure - directly or indirectly - to keep stum on demonstrations of dissatisfaction.
It would be a powerful message. Unfortunately, the people most affected by his policies cannot forgo 3-days pay. For some, it literally means the difference between having a home and/or food, and being homeless.
This!!! A general strike for 3 days. I know this is soooo easier said than done because we need to work. But it seems like we’re really at a crossroads.
They're owned by rich people who support this administration and they don't want to be punished for opposing it. This is what happens when you concentrate the power of information in the hands of the few who can use it to control and profit by it.
America and the world needs to start implementing treason charges against ALL politicians and media personnel who KNOWINGLY and INTENTIONALLY lie and decieve Humanity. They are FKN SCUMBAGS !!!
We must all protest with or without signs to make our voices heard whether our disreputable MSM covers it or not (the world did).
Old enough to remember the Vietnam War protests 'ignored' as well (or "those Commies"). Eventually MSM could not ignore the reality everyone else was actually seeing.
And Saturday in Chicago, the helicopters didn't show up until I was on my way home. So if they were doing the "official" count, they waited until 2+ hours after the peak.
The Iraq war was my first protest march and my first lesson in that phenomenon. I couldn't see the beginning or end of the sea of people I was in, but when I got home I discovered the news reporting it as if it was a small group of radicals mucking up traffic.
If there is a silver lining—NYT, cable news and the legacy media is growing more and more irrelevant. Teens, 20 and 30 somethings couldn’t care less about beltway media.
Unfortunately there's far too many getting news from YouTube influencers, some of whom are hard working and legitimate but who stream right next to some really dark shit b/c of the way YT works.
We desperately need reliable news sources and places like the NYT are failing us yet again.
Hard to argue against this which is why Dems need to infiltrate social media spaces & challenge narratives while also building their own media infrastructure.

The actual left. Or as they call it, the “far left”
Talk to any politics-desk adjacent reporter there for 5 minutes and they’ll drop a snide remark about “lefties”
@nytimes.com and @cnn.com
have both lost the battle against
their own irrelevancy.
