I have complicated feelings on #TDOV- visibility without safety is so dangerous, especially now
But as an educator I'm incredibly aware of how important the fact that I'm likely the first trans instructor most of my students have had is, esp for those who are TGNCI themselves
I'm visible for them.

I pray for a day when trans people can just be who they are without fear, though I doubt it will happen in my lifetime (I'm 57.)
for me though, i do feel *personally* that i owe my trans students my visibility, because they deserve to know in more than just a vague abstract sense that they can also be in these STEM + academic spaces
