Sawmills in the Pacific Northwest have been shutting down and being sold off for years. There are very few left at all. All our timber is scorched.

Fact is, in my part of the PNW at least, most large diameter mills have been maxed out with fire salvage timber, just from roadside hazard trees. Getting to it before it rots or checks is problematic. Meanwhile, private timber is shipped to China and Japan.

Thanks. Looks like the 280 acres is the total of US forests. Not necessarily the amount that would be logged. But wouldn’t put it past him to try and destroy every single acre and tree
